Celebrate Good Times

The Mets have taken to celebrating victories this season by jumping into the air sort of like the chest bumps employed by the Knicks of the early 1990s, but they only bump shoulders, more like a side bump.

Lastings's Last Chance?

The Mets are probably going to call up Lastings Milledge to start the second half as the regular left fielder.
This could be his last chance to prove to the Mets that he can be a valuable young outfielder.
He has about two weeks to do it as one or both of Endy Chavez and Mosies Alou should be back by the beginning of August.
I'd like to see the Mets allow Green and Alou to walk after the season and install Gomez and Milledge at the corners to start the 2008 season.
With all the ups (the throw, the game tying homer) and the downs (the Boston fly balls, the slump last season, the foot injury) and the absurd (the high fives, the rap album, the know your role sign in his locker), I'd love to see this kid get a fair chance to prove himself as a future star for the Mets.
Remember, he is only 22 years old.

Some Things You Didn't Know About Lastings Milledge

During Thursday's Mets game Chris Kotter told fans about Lastings Milledge facts, a website that reports some previously unknown info about the Mets future star. Gary Cohen felt the need to emphasize that these were facts in quotation marks, because some people don't understand sarcasm.
This internet craze started most hilariously with Chuck Norris, then moved on to the awful Jack Bauer and even one for Phillies Phenom Cole Hamels.

While I was skeptical of these copycat sites I must say that the Milledge site does have mostly original work, a large percentage of which is actually fairly amusing.
42. Jim Duquette says he wouldn't trade Lastings Milledge.
60. Lastings Milledge traded Kaz Matsui to the Colorado Rockies.
139. The 11th Commandment: Thou shalt not run on Lastings Milledge.
