Unhappy Recap: Yankees 8 Mets 2

Another disastrous starting pitching performance coupled with another anemic offensive performance. Hopefully this means the offense will break out of it the same time the pitching does leading to a 15 game winning streak.

El Duque didn't have his good breaking stuff and his fastball isn't good enough, definitely not against the Yankees when they are going this good.

As soon as A-Rod smoked that homer in the first inning you knew this game was over.

The Mets couldn't do anything with Chien-Ming Wang. He averages 4 strikeouts per 9 innings and he got 10, a new career high. Wang is an anomaly because pitchers with strikeout ratios that low are supposed to be inconsistent due to the unpredictablity of balls put in play. But he may be that rare exception who can succeed without a high strikeout number.

Heilman still sucks and is way to prone to the gopher ball but Schoeneweis and Feliciano looked pretty good.
